Knowledge Share Description
Evidence of botanical distillation reaches far back to ancient Persia, but for exactly how long humans have been practicing this craft may never truly be known. Recently there’s been a resurgence of interest in home distillation and distillate medicine. In this knowledge share, you’ll be introduced to the history, traditions, methods, and application of botanical distillation in the world of perfumery, alchemy, and herbal medicine. We’ll explore the practical, magical, and transformational ways the medicine produced from botanical distillation - essential oils and hydrosols - can be applied in your life. During our time together we will also dive into how working with aromatics plays an important role in our relationship with plants, the Earth, and the processing of emotions & trauma.
